The Inspiration Behind Maisaic
Hi, I’m Phil, and this is my daughter Maia. She’s the inspiration and namesake behind Maisaic (Maia + mosaic).
Before becoming a dad, I was laser-focused on my career — high stress and long hours to climb the corporate ladder. After Maia was born, I wanted more balance and the flexibility to prioritize my time with her while still doing meaningful work.
Maia is endlessly curious and creative. She loves to sing, dance, paint, swim, bike, skateboard — she’ll try anything! Like many parents, I kept searching for classes, lessons, and activities — and realized how hard it was to find trusted, up-to-date recommendations in one place.
That search led to the idea for Maisaic: a platform to make discovering and connecting with trusted providers simple, open, and community-driven.
Our Mission
Build an open and inclusive platform that helps people find trusted personal services — and help providers showcase their skills and experience. We do this by giving providers ownership of their identity, recognition for their work, and visibility in their communities, so consumers can confidently discover the right person for the job. We celebrate everyone in the ecosystem: from employees at large franchises to independent providers and small business owners, from full-time professionals to side-gig hobbyists, and every consumer seeking trusted, local services.

There are many individual platforms for hairstylists, childcare, pet care, handyman tasks, etc.—charging to list and taking fees on bookings. They’re built for businesses first, so you either list as a business or depend on an employer. Reviews are frequently tied to the business and limited to clients who booked through that one tool, which means your professional reputation doesn’t always follow you when you change jobs or platforms.
Maisaic does things differently — we believe everyone deserves a voice, not a bill.
By making profiles free and open, we ensure clients can discover talented providers and providers can build lasting reputations that truly belong to them—not a platform or employer.
And because we want everyone to benefit from the Maisaic community — not be locked into specific tools — you can link to any external site, booking platform, or social profile to help grow your business. Our goal is to connect the dots, not close them off. In the future, we’ll offer integrated tools for convenience, but the choice will always be yours.
